Window Inspiration at MADE Retail

MADE Retail is excited to again partner with the Swinburne Visual Merchandising Department.
With its generous size windows and busy street frontage, the MADE Retail showroom allows the students to experience a real life opportunity to combine their skills of prop construction, styling, and concept delivery as part of their VM course content.

Encompassing a “Style & Texture” window theme, the students and teachers worked effortlessly together to bring to life a hybrid of VM design elements to compliment the chosen MADE Retail product. Through a creative selection process, the students and teachers combine a folio of mood boards and provide a visual and communitive presentation. The campaign includes a breakdown on materials, costs and installation requirements.

The chosen Swinburne concept reflects a combination of the student’s designs, embellishing a collage of handcrafted butterflies through a monochromatic colour pallet with hints of copper tone. With a seasonal feel, texture and artistic ink swirls, the collaborative group deliver a delightful visual shopfront experience.

Creative mood boards were presented by the students and teachers comprising of images, text and sample hand crafted paper.

The MADE Retail hero product is a selection from the Window France Mannequin collection; The Absolute Tailor Made and Vogue Tailor Made mannequins and busts. This series is inspired through a marriage of sophistication and style shown with the elegant dark timber and eclipse black canvas busts. Bright copper fittings accompany the range. The artisanship of the collection has been cleverly translated into the window by using different hues of pinks and accent copper tones to reflect the mannequin’s fittings.

Also on display is the MADE Retail MVM accessory range. This collective VM offering is used to display chosen retail accessories in the window, as well as to compliment the display theme. Housing the MVM display collection is the MADE retail custom metal shelving unit. With its adjustable shelves and perforated design, the unit represents the MADE’s custom fabrication capability division as well as offering a shelving solution for the retail product.

It is always an incredible journey for the students from their first initial design input to the finalised chosen concept. We were delighted by the student’s enthusiasm and impressed by their creativity and presentation techniques. We look forward to a continued collaboration with the Swinburne Visual Merchandising department in 2022.
